Participant Agreement & Code of Conduct

Please thoroughly read this Prom Participation Agreement/ Code of Conduct (listed below) to understand what is required of your attendee at this event.
 
ATTENDANCE:
THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC EVENT. Attendees must be homeschooled students who are juniors or seniors in high school at the time of registration. Attendees may invite guests who are not homeschooled, but guests must be included on an attendee’s ticket. Sophomore students may be invited by an attendee but must be age 15 by Prom. Prom alumni (students who have graduated high school) are permitted to attend one additional year but may be no older than age 20. Attendees and parents will be responsible to make restitution for any damages caused. In the event of accident or injury, attendees and parents will not hold AZ Homeschool Prom, the Prom team, their representatives, volunteer parent chaperones, or the Orange Tree Resort liable. By purchasing a prom ticket, attendees agree to comply with this Prom Code of Conduct.
 
*Definition of Homeschool- Possible Attendees are those who are schooled at home and whose primary teachers and educators are their parent(s) or guardian(s). They are those who upon graduating will be awarded a certificate or diploma from a parent or guardian or from a traditional homeschool resource organization.
 
CHAPERONES:
This is a chaperoned event. Respect and obey all those in authority, which includes all adult supervisors, workers and chaperones. Any infractions may result in prom privileges being revoked. If a student is removed from Prom due to a violation of this Agreement/ Code of conduct, there will be no refunds.
 
CODE OF CONDUCT
We hope to facilitate an enjoyable prom experience for all attendees by implementing the following Prom Code of Conduct.
Orange Tree Resort has welcomed us for this event. Please respect the facilities and its rules. You are not allowed to leave the building except to the designated outdoor area. You are not allowed to leave the event area and no participants will be allowed to reserve hotel rooms or stay on the property after the conclusion of the Prom events.
 
DRESS CODE: This is a formal event and the following dress code applies:
Gentlemen: • Appropriate modest formal/semi-formal attire is required. • Shirts must be button up dress shirts. No polos, T-shirts or tank tops will be permitted • A jacket and tie are required for Prom. • Dress Pants must be worn at the waist. • No undergarments may show.
 
Ladies: • Appropriate modest formal/semi-formal attire is required. • No cleavage should be visible from the front or side. • Dresses may be no shorter than mid-thigh at the shortest non-sheer part (this includes slits). • The back of the dress may be no lower than the small of the back at the lowest part. • Dresses must cover the midriff completely (this includes the sides) when arms are raised. • No undergarments may show. • Dresses must not be excessively form-fitting. • There may be no cutouts in the dress anywhere other than on the back (adhering to the low- back dress guideline above) • Dresses that have straps or are strapless are permitted however they must conform to the dress code without being re-positioned frequently. No cover-ups (coats, shawls, sweaters) will be allowed over dresses that do not meet dress code.
 
MUSIC: Music has been pre-selected. Please do not bring your own.
 
BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS: Homeschool Prom is not a public event and is organized and run by Christian parents of homeschool students. Therefore, the following behavioral expectations will be adhered to:
 
All participants are expected to refrain from specific displays of affection including, but not limited to, kissing, necking, petting, inappropriate touching or excessive hugging, any intimate sexual behavior or conduct that is deemed to be sexual in nature by event chaperones.
 
All students are expected to dance in a respectable manner. Dancing that is inappropriate, overly sexual in nature, or creates unsafe conditions is not allowed. Chaperones reserve the right to make decisions on suitable dancing and individuals who engage in the above-mentioned behaviors will be removed from Prom.
 
Regarding issues of sexual orientation and gender identity, the code of conduct for this event requires the following for all participants: (1) Dress must be in conformance with one’s biological sex. (2) Use of any/all restrooms, locker rooms, and/or changing facilities must be in conformity with one’s biological sex. (3) No intimate displays of affection between students of the same gender will be permitted on or off the dance floor at this event.
 
No smoking (including vaping) alcohol, drugs, or weapons are allowed on the premises.
 
ADMITTANCE AND DEPARTURE: At admittance all attendees must check in. No attendee or guest may leave prom without notifying a chaperone. Once an attendee or guest has left the property, they will not be allowed to return.
